OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) — As part of an agreement between the Oklahoma Attorney General and the U.S. Department of Transportation, Oklahomans will now be able to submit complaints about airline carriers and ticket agents to the AG’s office.

Prior to the agreement, the federal government was responsible for handling airline complaint investigations. The new agreement, according to a news release from the AG’s office, streamlines the process, allowing consumers to submit complaints at the state level.

Consumers may fill out a complaint form for issues including flight disruptions, lack of refunds or lost or delayed luggage.

“Airline passengers deserve to be treated fairly and to receive the services for which they pay,” Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond said. “Our hope is that this airline complaint form will improve ease for Oklahomans to lodge a complaint directly with the Attorney General’s office. I am committed to protecting all Oklahomans from deceptive and prohibited conduct.”

The agreement between Oklahoma and DOT is said to be for a two-year term, and may be extended in two-year intervals.
