Lindsay Lohan's childhood stardom
Lindsay first rose to stardom in Hollywood after her iconic debut in the beloved Parent Trap where she starred as the two freckled-faced twins in the family comedy. After the hit film, Lindsay went on to land roles in a number of famous flicks throughout the '90s and 2000s including Mean Girls, Freaky Friday, Herbie: Fully Loaded, Just My Luck, Confessions of a Teenage Dirtbag, and many more. But after she turned 21 years old, Lindsay became entangled in the nightlife scene and faced multiple run-ins with the law.
Lindsay's trouble with the law
In 2007, Lindsay was arrested for driving under the influence and was later checked into rehab. In July two weeks after being released from rehab the actress was arrested for a second time for charges of possession of cocaine, driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. The next month she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor cocaine use and driving under the influence. After the string of incidents, Lindsay was sent to an alcohol education program and was ordered to complete community service and spent one day in jail.
When Lindsay was released from jail she was given three years of probation. At the time Lindsay released a statement about the rocky period in her life and admitted: "It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs."
After, Lindsay went on to miss a mandatory DUI progress hearing which led to a bench warrant being issued for her arrest that was later waved after she posted bail. After missing the meeting and other mandatory classes, a judge determined she violated the terms of her probation and was sentenced to 90 days in jail, followed by 90 days of inpatient rehab treatment. Due to overcrowding, Lindsay only spent 14 days behind bars. In a later interview with Oprah Winfrey, Lindsay admitted she had subconsciously wanted to go to jail in hopes of finding a place "to just sit" and "be at peace."
Lindsay's comeback
After shying away from the spotlight for multiple years after the tumultuous time, Lindsay is back and ready to return to her craft. And as Lindsay appears healthy and happy, fans have taken to social media sharing their support for the star. In a Reddit thread, one fan wrote: "Dang, Lindsay Lohan is looking amazing, she's been through the wringer and then some so it's great to see her looking refreshed and with it." And another added: "I am happy to see Lohan back on screen again. I hope only for the best for her health and happiness." And a third wrote: "As someone in Recovery it makes me so happy to see Lindsay looking radiant and healthy."
