Whether you were planning to go on vacation or take a chill day off at home, there’s plenty of TV offerings to entertain you during Independence Day this week.
From old movies to new specials to classic TV episodes, here’s everything to watch and stream on July 4, 2024.
“Shark Beach with Anthony Mackie: Gulf Coast”
The Marvel superhero – who stars in this docuseries and exec produces it – explores his hometown of New Orleans where sharks are stealing fishermen’s catches. And, he probes into the rumors that shark encounters are on the rise on the Gulf of Mexico .
“Chapter Seven: The Bite,” (the seventh episode of Season 3) is set on the Fourth of July. During the holiday, the town of Hawkins throws a “Fun Fair,” but as the fireworks go off, the gang spot something sinister and the kids must tangle with one of the monsters from the Upside Down. Meanwhile, Hopper ( David Harbour ) and Joyce (Winona Ryder) search for the kids and tangle with Russian goons at the fair.

Will Smith in “Independence Day.” “Independence Day”
In the Season 1 episode “Summer Heat,” Susannah (Rachel Blanchard) has her annual party at the beach house for the Fourth of July. Belly (Lola Tung) and Fisher brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) make margaritas, which leads to chaos.

Charlie Day as Charlie in “It’s Aways Sunny in Philadelphia.” FX Networks “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”
In the Season 2 episode, “Charlie Goes America All Over Everybody’s Ass,” Charlie (Charlie Day) and Dee (Kaitlin Olson) tries to prove their patriotism by upstaging the local anti-smoking group. Meanwhile, Dennis (Glenn Howerton) and Mac ( Rob McElhenney ) try to turn their pub Paddy’s into the land of the free – which quickly devolves into a lawless place where Frank (Danny DeVito) presides over a game of Russian Roulette.

Drew Carey in “The Price is Right.” CBS “The Price Is Right”
The iconic game show hosted by Drew Carey is having a special episode themed to America’s birthday. Players have the chance to win all-American cars, a party boat and the ultimate backyard BBQ.
Where to watch: 11 a.m. on CBS on July 4, and streaming on Paramount+.
“The Office” doesn’t have a Fourth of July episode, but “Beach Games” comes closest. NBC “The Office”
Although the wildly popular comedy doesn’t have a specific Independence Day episode, Season 3’s episode “Beach Games” is close enough. Michael (Steve Carrell) is being considered for a position in the company’s corporate department, so while the group goes to what they think will be a fun outing at Lake Scranton, he constructs “Survivor” like competitions to select his successor.
It wouldn’t be a proper Fourth of July without this modern classic. Starring Nicolas Cage, the 2004 adventure movie follows a historian and code-breaker as he searches for a rumored treasure that dates back to America’s inception.
In the Season 5 episode aptly titled “4th of July,” Kath (Carrie Brownstein) and Dave (Fred Armisen) try to have the ultimate BBQ for the holiday, while the mayor (Kyle MacLachlan) searches the deep web for special fireworks.
It doesn’t get more patriotic than the “Top Gun” franchise. The 2022 hit sequel to the ‘80s movie follows United States Navy Captain Maverick (Tom Cruise) as he confronts his past while training a group of younger Top Gun graduates. Glen Powell, Miles Teller and Val Kilmer co-star.
In the Season 3 episode “Fourth of July,” Zack (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) is a judge at the annual Fourth of July beauty pageant. He’s backed into a corner when he’s pressured to pick Stacey (Leah Remini) but he instead picks Kelly (Tiffani Thiessen).
Although it’s not themed to the holiday specifically, this is a new movie premiering July 4. Starring Emma Roberts , Tom Hopper and Gabrielle Union, the story follows a Florida party girl who turns out to be the only hope for the NASA space program after a fluke puts her in training with more qualified candidates.
While it doesn’t have a special Independence Day episode, “Wet Hot American Summer” is the ultimate “summertime vibes” show: Goofy, sun drenched and filled with famous faces like Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Amy Poehler, Jon Hamm and Chris Pine.
