LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Michigan Department of Transportation will remove lane restrictions on 60% of its roadwork projects statewide to combat expected traffic delays caused by heavy travel over the 4th of July weekend.

From 3 p.m. on Wednesday until 6 a.m. next Monday, 105 of 174 MDOT road projects statewide will have their lane restrictions removed, but officials say construction equipment and traffic configurations such as temporary shifts and shoulder closures will remain in place.
