Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have spent the past two years as fierce competitors in the NCAA and WNBA.

Now, for one game, they are going to get a chance to be teammates.

The WNBA announced on Tuesday evening that Clark and Reese have both been named to the 2024 All-Star Game where they will be teammates for Team WNBA. This year's format will feature a team of WNBA All-Stars taking on the 2024 USA Olympic team.

The game is scheduled for July 20 in Phoenix.

It is the first time since 2014 that two rookies have been named to the All-Star Game in the same season.

Regardless of the format, both players are deserving of the honor.

As of Tuesday, Clark is averaging 16.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game for the Indiana Fever, and rapidly emerging as a star scorer in the league.

Reese, meanwhile, has been averaging a double-double for the Chicago Sky with 13.3 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.

They are the two clear frontrunners for the league's Rookie of the Year award, and they've positioned themselves similarly despite having vastly different strengths: Clark's scoring and ability to distribute the ball vs. Reese's two-way game and ability to out-rebound everybody on the floor.

They are both having fantastic seasons and look like they will not only transform their teams, but also help boost the league.

They'll surely have the spotlight on them again at the All-Star Game, but this time, as teammates.
