    Crash on Pacific Coast Highway south of Mugu Rock injures multiple patients

    Emergency crews responded to a crash on Pacific Coast Highway near Thornhill Broome Beach in Ventura County Tuesday night that blocked the route in both directions.

    The collision, described by callers as head-on, was reported around 8:25 p.m. on a stretch between Point Mugu and the beach, near the entrance to the La Jolla Canyon trailhead, according to Ventura County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol reports.

    Firefighters at the scene said three vehicles had major damage. Crews said they were treating seven patients, according to radio traffic. No details were immediately available on the extent of injuries.

    The highway was blocked in both directions for about two hours. The road reopened around 10:30 p.m., CHP reports showed.
