    Brief Outlook:

Severe thunderstorms are forecast across parts of Colorado, with risks of damaging winds and hail. Check below for further details, timing and much more information.

States and Cities Impacted: Colorado (Denver, Colorado Springs).

    Detailed Forecast:

An upper-level trough will influence severe weather development across Colorado. Enhanced wind shear, with values around 30-40 knots in the 0-6 km layer, will support the development of organized storm structures, including supercells capable of producing large hail and damaging wind gusts.

At the surface, instability values are expected to reach around 1500-2500 J/kg. The presence of a surface low and the associated trough will help maintain a moist and unstable airmass across the region. This interaction will foster the development of severe thunderstorms during the late afternoon and evening hours.

    Timing:

The day will start with mostly clear skies, allowing for significant surface heating. Severe thunderstorms are expected to initiate by late afternoon, with peak activity occurring from mid-afternoon to early evening. These storms are expected to weaken by late evening.

Main Impact: damaging winds, large hail and lightning.

    Stay tuned for more updates.
