Warm with a chance for late day thunderstorms on the 4th - Jacob

WHAT WE'RE TRACKING:

PLANNING THE NEXT 24 HOURS: Mostly clear skies will continue throughout tonight. We'll remain dry through the morning with a chance of storms by the early afternoon for the 4th. Temperatures will peak in the middle 80s.

EXTENDED FORECAST: For the fourth, w e're looking at late day showers and thunderstorms, and a few could be on the stronger side, especially west of Dane County. Our best chance of more widespread showers and storms still look to be after most firework shows during the late and overnight hours Thursday into Friday. However, we cannot rule out a thunderstorm or two across our area during the evening, but the best chance of rain during that time will be for western counties. If we're able to see a few strong to even severe storms, our threats would be gusty winds and hail. Temperatures will be cooler Friday, with highs likely only in the mid 70s across most of southern Wisconsin. Temperatures the rest of this upcoming weekend and most of next week will remain in the upper 70s and lower 80s, which is near normal.
