Why it matters: With the city's international roots, many local fans' teams are likely still in the competition. Some restaurants and bars are hosting watch parties throughout the tournament.

• The final game is July 14 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

State of play: Eight teams secured their spot in the quarterfinals, including tournament favorite Argentina.

• Lionel Messi sat out the team's final group stage game against Peru, and it remains unclear if he'll play against Ecuador tomorrow in Houston, per The Athletic .
