PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Warm, not too muggy today.  But get ready, lots of heat and humidity will be in place on Thursday.

Mostly sunny Wednesday with highs near 90 degrees.

Hot and muggy on Independence Day Thursday.  With intense daytime heating, we could spark a few late afternoon and evening thunderstorms.  Rain chances are 30%.  The bigger story will be the heat and steam.  Highs will be in the middle 90s with the heat index or feels-like temperatures near 100 degrees.  So, take lots of breaks in the shade and drink plenty of water if you are going to spend a lot of time outside.

Friday is partly cloudy with scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms.  Rain chances are 40%.  Heat and humidity will be an issue again with feels-like temperatures in the upper 90s to low 100s.

Another warm and muggy day on Saturday with highs in the lower 90s.  Saturday’s rain chance is at 60%.

Sunday, scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms with highs around 90 degrees.  Chance of rain 40%.

Monday and Tuesday will be humid with scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms.  Highs will be in the low 90s.  Chance of rain 50%.
