Los Angeles Rams Puka Nacua was among the biggest surprises in the 2023 NFL season.

Taken by the Rams in the fifth round of last year’s draft, not a lot of people thought that he’d go from an unknown downfield weapon into a Pro Bowler.

Now, every NFL fan knows who Nacua is. Even his teammate’s son has a nickname for him.

Cooper Kupp and his wife, Anna Kupp, revealed during a recent episode of their Daily Grind podcast that their son, Cypress, calls Nacua “Puka Dot.”

That’s a cool nickname. Perhaps equally as cool as how Nacua carried himself on the field in 2023 when the former BYU Cougars star wide receiver set a new NFL rookie record for most receiving yards.

In his first year in the league, Nacua racked up 1,486 receiving yards to go with six touchdowns, breaking the rookie record set in 1960 by Bill Groman. Nacua’s 105 receptions in 2023 also topped Jaylen Waddle’s rookie record of 104 catches set in 2021.

Together with Kupp, Nacua will look to do plenty of damage again in 2024 against opposing defenses. Last season, the Rams were seventh overall in the NFL with 245.6 passing yards per game and 10th with 2.6 touchdowns per outing.
