Chance Perdomo’s Family Creates Foundation To Honor Him And Keep His ‘Legacy And Memory Alive’ Following His Death

Chance Perdomo’s mother speaks out for the first time since the actor’s tragic death with an initiative aimed at keeping his legacy alive.

As Blavity’s Shadow and Act reported, Perdomo, 27, died in a motorcycle accident in March, prompting an outpour of condolences from family, friends and colleagues who have since mourned his death.

The Gen V star’s mother, Monica, shared a post on his Instagram account on Saturday, thanking his fans and followers for their support and announcing the launch of a foundation in his honor, per People .

“Dear Friends and Fans,” the caption began. “It is with a heaviest of hearts that I write to you following the passing of my beloved son, the love of my life, Chance Perdomo. Your love and support during this incredibly difficult time will be [a] source of immense comfort to our family.”

“Chance was not only a talented actor but also a kind, compassionate and beautiful soul who touched the lives of so many,” she continued. “I have kept quiet as you can imagine, to take time to process all of this which has been incredibly difficult and daunting.”

She then emphasized how she was “committed” to keeping his legacy and memory alive by highlighting the type of life he lived and the causes he cherished deeply.

“In honour of Chance’s passion and the causes he cared so deeply about, we are in the process of establishing the Chance Perdomo Foundation,” she said. “This foundation will support the initiatives that Chance was passionate about, ensuring that his spirit and values continue to make a positive impact on the world.”

She concluded the post by expressing gratitude once more to everyone who has extended their love and support to her and the kind words they shared about her beloved son.

“Thank you once again for your unwavering love and support. Your kindness and compassion have been a beacon of light in our darkest moments. With heartfelt gratitude, Monica.”

In April, the cast of Gen V shared a statement following the passing of their co-star, describing Perdomo as a great person with an “infectious smile.”

“Our hearts are with Chance’s loved ones as we grieve this shocking loss. We will remember the special moments we had together, his infectious smile that could light up any room, his warm hugs and the authenticity he carried with him always. Rest in peace dear friend, you will be deeply missed,” the statement read.
