In his latest episode of their New Heights Podcast , brothers Jason and Travis Kelce took a break from the football talk to instead join in on the Taylor Swift talk. The last time lovebirds Travis and Taylor were seen together was on stage during London Eras concert, which marked the first time that Kelce wasn’t just in the audience.

“It’s very unlike me, I don’t love going on stages… definitely didn’t feel at home,” he joked sarcastically. In reality, the opposite is true - Travis is great with crowd work, so much so that it was actually his idea to join the tour as a cameo.

"I initially mentioned it to Tay,” Travis began. “I was like, 'How funny would it be if I just rolled out on one of the bikes during the '1989' era.” Chuckling at himself and his brother’s reaction, Travis continued. "She started laughing. She was like, 'Would you seriously be up for doing something like that?'"

And just like that, the Travis Kelce Eras feature was born. Instead of his initial 1989 cameo, Swift decided to move his appearance to the "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" interlude during her TTPD era. In that section of the show, Taylor Swift is surrounded by dancers who comedically try to revive the singer to continue performing. Thus, Kelce could blend in with the other dancers in what he called “the safest option” of the show.

“I’ve seen the show enough, might as well put me to work here!” Travis joked with brother Jason.

Jason called "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" one of his favorite songs. Travis agreed, adding, “It's such a fun, playful part of the show. It was the perfect area, or perfect time, for me to go up there — just be a ham and have some fun.” And that fun even included some hilariously cringey dance moves from a classic Jim Carrey movie. “I’ve always wanted to pull out this move, but I never knew, like, when… it was the Dumb and Dumber , Jim Carrey, him doing the tap dances,” he said, laughing aloud.

“Did you ever think, in a million years, you’d be a backup dancer?” Jason asked. “[Cause] you can do some wrong, you can mess up a show.”

And while Travis had incredible faith in the production and backup dancers, he was nervous about one part in particular - picking up Taylor . “The one thing I told myself is: Do not drop the baby” he said, referencing his football background. “Do not drop Taylor on your way over to this damn couch… Coach Bieniemy always used to say, ‘That ball holds all of our dreams, goals, and aspirations' - you do not drop that ball!”

“But I didn’t disappoint Taylor, and that’s all that really matters,” he added. Well said!
