Honoring the road warriors. Losing a parent or grandparent is never something people take lightly. They are there to watch you grow and often play key roles in shaping you into who you are today. As much as we wish we could be immortal and not have to deal with the grief that comes with losing a loved one, that is sadly not the way it can be. While everyone has a special way of paying respects to those who have passed, this video has gone viral, tugging at the heartstrings of long-haul truckers. A woman driving down the highway passed a semi-truck with a casket on a flatbed trailer in tow. The casket was secured down, with a warning sign behind the trailer that read:
"Papa's last ride." The video, paired with a sad melody, really chokes up those watching the footage. While many people choose a hearse to transport the bodies of their loved ones to their final place of rest, this mode is a unique yet beautiful tribute to someone's Papa, who one can assume was a truck driver. Many people quickly filled out the comments, noting how sweet it was that the family chose this way to honor their Papa. Many users related that they had family who were also road warriors. "My Daddy was a trucker since 17. He's been gone 2 years. This is beautiful." "I don’t want to cry anymore. Today has been tough on this app. I’m so sorry for your loss." "My dad was a trucker for 30 years; I wish I would've thought of this 3 years ago."
"This is probably one of the most emotional moments I’ve seen." "We did this for my dad, too. It is the best way to honor our road warriors." "My papa is a long-haul trucker, and this just made my heart sink." "I don't even know them, but I would be sobbing in my car." May this trucker be chasing lines in another life; what a beautiful way to celebrate what he loved doing.
