ALERT DAY Thursday for possible strong to severe storms - Savanna

WHAT WE'RE TRACKING:

• Storm chance on July 4th

PLANNING THE NEXT 24 HOURS: We've added an ALERT DAY today for the possibility of some severe storms, especially with a lot of people planning to be outside today. We'll remain dry through the morning with a chance of storms by the early afternoon on the 4th.  A few could be on the stronger side, especially west of Dane County. Our best chance of more widespread showers and storms does look to be a little bit earlier in the day now. Scattered storms are in the forecast 1-5pm Thursday, with the peak between 5-9pm. Scattered showers will remain in the forecast overnight into Friday morning. If we're able to see a few stronger to even severe storms, our threats would be gusty winds, hail, along with lightning. Temperatures will peak in the mid 80s across southern Wisconsin.

EXTENDED FORECAST: Temperatures will be cooler Friday, with highs likely only in the mid 70s across most of southern Wisconsin. Temperatures the rest of this upcoming weekend and most of next week will remain in the upper 70s and lower 80s, which is near normal.
