BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) – An ethics complaint against Beaufort County School Superintendent Dr. Frank Rodriguez has been thrown out.

The complaint was filed by a Hilton Island resident last year alleging that Dr. Rodriguez used public funds to influence the passage of the district’s $439 million bond referendum.

The State Ethics Commission investigated the complaint and dismissed the case after finding no evidence of wrongdoing.

In a statement to WSAV News 3, Dr. Rodriguez said, “I’m pleased the ethics complaint filed against me has been thoroughly investigated and dismissed by the State Ethics Commission. I want to express my gratitude to the community for their support and understanding during this time.”

He continued on to say, “My commitment to serving the best interests of our students, staff and community remains a top priority.”
