49ers running back is on trade block; Will move happen before training camp?

The San Francisco 49ers have one of the most stacked rosters in the National Football League, including Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, and Brandon Aiyuk. However, this doesn't mean there aren't a few spots where they could make some cuts.

The 49ers' most crowded position seems to be at running back, with McCaffrey as the No. 1 RB and three more players fighting for that No. 2 spot: Elijah Miller, Isaac Guerendo, and Jordan Mason.

Unfortunately, this means that San Francisco has room to lose one of these players, and Bleacher Report's Joe Tansey believes that Mason is most likely to be cut or traded away to another team.

"Mason likely enters training camp as the No. 4 running back behind McCaffrey, Mitchell, and Guerendo," Tansey said. "The 25-year-old has 464 rushing yards and four touchdowns to his name over two NFL seasons. He also averaged over five yards per carry in each campaign.

"The yards per carry numbers should at least intrigue some teams in need of running back depth. Mason may be better off signing with another team after a potential release, but the 49ers could get a late Day 3 pick for him if a team is that interested in him."

While Mason may not stand out as much as McCaffrey or Mitchell, he could still make an enticing prospect for a team needing to build depth at the running back position. Hopefully, he'll be able to find a team that can utilize his talents.
