The WNBA's two most iconic rookies are also the two first-year players who have pulled away from the rest of the pack when it comes to the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year Award race.

Of course, these two rookies are Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark.

Both Clark and Reese have had excellent starts to their respective careers, and have done enough to deserve the award so far in the season.

Yet, ESPN made it clear on Wednesday which of the two they believe is more deserving of the award at this point.

ESPN's WNBA Award Tracker Midway Point Projections has Caitlin Clark as the frontrunner to win the WNBA Rookie of the Year Award.

ESPN also notes Angel Reese is the clear challenger, per an X post from Vanshay Murdock .

Perhaps one of these two rookie icons will separate themselves from the other in the WNBA season's second half.

For now, fans can enjoy the competition between them two, and take note of how it is increasing attention for the entire league and sport of basketball.

Plus fans will get to see Reese and Clark as teammates during the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game later this month.
