Who is AGT star Pranysqa Mishra? 9-year-old gone viral with Tina Turner debut

NINE-YEAR-OLD Pranysqa Mishra’s audition aired on the July 3, 2024, episode of America’s Got Talent.

Her showstopping performance earned her a standing ovation from the live audience and a Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum.

Who is America’s Got Talent star Pranysqa Mishra?

Pranysqa Mishra is a nine-year-old contestant on the 19th season of America’s Got Talent .

According to NBC , she has performed the national anthem for major sporting events in the NBA , NHL , MLB , and more.

Before taking the stage, she said she was mostly nervous about performing in front of Simon Cowell .

She also credited her grandmother as her main inspiration.

In a backstage interview, she said, “My grandma always tells me to sing my heart out and that one day I would have a big stage.”

While talking to the panel, she said that her favorite artists include Aretha Franklin , Whitney Houston , and Tina Turner .

She won over the judges and fans of the show everywhere with her rendition of a Tina Turner classic.

The Tampa native sang River Deep – Mountain High for the judges and received a Golden Buzzer from Heidi Klum .

After her successful audition, an emotional Pranysqa said, “My dream is coming true. I can’t believe it.”

What did the judges say about Pranysqa Mishra’s performance?

All four judges were impressed by Pranysqa Mishra’s showstopping performance, which earned a standing ovation from the judges and the live audience.

Sofia Vergara shouted, “Bravo,” at the end of her performance.

Heidi Klum said, “Oh my gosh, I did not expect that. We expect a lot of things, but I did not expect that.”

Before the rest of the panel, made up of Sofia, Howie Mandel , and Simon Cowell could speak, Heidi continued.

She added, “You know what I’m going to do now because I don’t really care what Howie, Simon, or Sofia has to say?

“I want you to call your grandmother and say that Heidi Klum pushed a Golden Buzzer for you.”

What is the Golden Buzzer?

America’s Got Talent features red buzzers that the four judges can press when they’ve seen enough of an audition.

On the other hand, the show also gives judges and hosts a Golden Buzzer that can send a contestant straight to the live performances.

If a competitor receives the Golden Buzzer, they can skip the additional audition rounds of AGT.

The Golden Buzzer is typically reserved for stellar auditions that are emotionally moving.

Starting with season 19, the returning judges will each get one additional Golden Buzzer.

That means each of the four judges will get two Golden Buzzers per season.

Host Terry Crews will also receive one Golden Buzzer opportunity.
