Stephen A. Smith sees big things happening in the WNBA this July, especially after Indiana Fever sharpshooter Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky double-double machine Angel Reese made the All-Star team.

Both Clark and Reese will become teammates for the first time in their respective careers in the WNBA All-Star Game; and considering that they are the hottest names in the league right now, their team-up is expected to draw massive viewership.

In fact according to Stephen A., it has "breaking the Internet" potential.

"The big winner in TV ratings is the WNBA All-Star game. Standout rookies Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are headed to Phoenix -- as teammates. That's a big takeaway from Tuesday's 2024 WNBA All-Star roster announcement. Now, they will be on the same side, which has 'breaking the Internet' potential on gameday," the veteran sports commentator shared on LinkedIn.

Considering that Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese's Fever-Sky showdown last June 23 averaged 2.3 million viewers--which is the most-watched WNBA game in 23 years across all networks--it's definitely safe to assume that the All-Star Game would top those numbers now that they are on the same side.

The WNBA All-Star Game will pit the current USA women's national basketball team led by A'ja Wilson with Team WNBA--composed of Clark, Reese and other All-Stars that are not part of Team USA. They will face off on July 20th in Phoenix.
