Mom of Kyle Filipowski's Fiancée Caitlin Hutchison Makes Cryptic Statement Amid Controversy

After a report that his controversial relationship may have contributed to a slide down the NBA draft board, Kyle Filipowski's future mother-in-law is speaking out.

The 20-year-old former Duke star slipped out of the first round before being taken by the Utah Jazz with the No. 32 overall pick. After reports emerged that his relationship with seven-years-older girlfriend Caitlin Hutchison may have played a factor, Hutchison's mother spoke out with a cryptic statement hinting that more information would be coming out.

"There will be things forthcoming," Amanda Hutchison told The Daily Mail .

ESPN draft insider Jonathan Givony had told Zach Lowe on The Lowe Post that NBA teams were concerned with the age difference between Filipowski and Hutchison. While Givony admitted there were other factors in Filipowski falling out of the first round, the relationship was definitely a factor.

"I swear I've heard it 25 times this came up. It was one of the biggest factors that you heard and it's just weird man," Givony said. "It's really really weird. I think people really overthought this one and listen the workouts didn't help. The interviews didn't help, he's a little bit of a nervous guy but there's a lot less pressure in the NBA regular season then there is playing at Duke."

Amanda Hutchison hinted that the couple would get past the controversy.

“What we’ve always said to the kids is, for everything that’s good, if you have faith at all there will be adversaries, there’s always a negative for every positive. So it’s how we weather those storms,” Amanda Hutchinson said.
