Everyone wants more storage space on their iPhones — but we aren’t all eager to pay for more space or spend hours deleting every photo and video we’ve ever taken to gain back storage space. If you are looking to make small gains doing relatively minor things that won’t take up too much of your time, deleting a few apps is the way to go to free up space fast.

We know what you’re thinking: I don’t want to delete my apps — I love them all! Fair enough. But when was the last time you used one of the many pre-installed apps on your phone that are taking up space and giving nothing back to your experience? If you are having a difficult enough time thinking of the names of pre-installed apps, that may be your answer. Deleting them won’t save considerable amounts of space, but it can help a bit. Consider deleting these pre-installed apps to get more storage space on your phone.

    Podcasts

If you don’t use the Podcasts app because you rarely, if ever, listen to Podcasts, or have another way of streaming them, it’s time to delete this pre-installed app. You simply don’t need it.

    Compass

Have you ever used the Compass on your phone? If you didn’t even know your phone had a compass and/or can’t imagine where on Earth or sea you’d bust out a compass — get rid of it.

    iBooks

Similar to Podcasts, this is one of those pre-installed apps that you either use and love or have never touched.

    Weather

Hear us out on this one: the Weather app that comes pre-installed on your device is fantastic. It’s everything you might need and more. But if you find it lacking and have downloaded another weather app, you might want to consider deleting this one. Having more than one weather app installed on your device increases the amount of battery power and storage space being used, as these apps rely on location to do their jobs. One weather app should be plenty.
