It appears Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown has been watching “Hard Knocks,” which seems to have given him a bit more motivation going into the 2024 season.

Brown took to X in a now-deleted post to show his support for his new teammate, Saquon Barkley, after intimate details of the negotiations between the running back and his former Giants team were exposed in the recent premiere of HBO’s “Hard Knocks.”

“The Saquon video fired me up and it wasn’t even about me,” Brown wrote in the deleted post, as captured by @brgridiron on X. “I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure you get yours fam!”

Giants general manager Joe Schoen was seen multiple times debating what to do with Barkley as he entered free agency.

Giants GM Joe Schoen’s stark Saquon Barkley reality: Not paying Daniel Jones $40M for handoffs

“What are we really gonna get unless it got down to $7 million? I don’t want to offer that because I don’t want to be like we ‘disrespected him,’” Schoen said during a conversation with Giants owner John Mara on “Hard “Knocks.” “There’s 31 teams and it only takes one to maybe be open to doing something. If it doesn’t get to that then, hey, we’re going to let you hit free agency. Find out your market, come back and let us know if we can match it. If we can, we’ll have those discussions.”

Schoen seemingly did not want to get into a bidding war to retain Barkley, who landed a three-year, $37.5 million contract ($12.5 million average) with $26 million guaranteed from the Eagles.

Incentives in the contract can push Barkley’s potential earnings to $46 million.

While discussing team building further with his closest front office executives, Schoen said a big reason why they wouldn’t splurge on Barkley was the contract of quarterback Daniel Jones.

“We’ve got to upgrade the offensive line, and you’re paying the guy $40 million — it’s not to hand the ball off to a $12 million back,” Schoen said to director of player personnel Tim McDonnell, who questioned the team’s offensive identity without Barkley.

Brown and the Eagles are coming off a disappointing season, where they started 10-1 before limping to the finish line and a first-round playoff exit.

They hope Barkley is the missing piece for the team and can give them the seemingly needed locker room presence to keep the squad together.

Brown and Barkley were seen courtside at a 76ers-Knicks playoff game in May, with some Knicks fans calling him a traitor.

Barkley claimed to have never received an offer to return to New York.
