Bayern send talent Zvonarek on loan to Austrian champions Graz

Bayern Munich have sent teenager Lovro Zvonarek to Austrian league and cup champions Sturm Graz on a season-long loan so that he can develop in matches including the Champions League.

Zvonarek, 19, is a Croatia under-21 international and has featured in five Bundesliga matches for Bayern, scoring one goal. He received a professional contract at Bayern in May until 2027.

“Lovro Zvonarek is a very exciting player who has everything he needs to hold his own in professional football," Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund said.

"We are convinced that he will take the next steps at Sturm Graz by gaining experience in the Bundesliga and Champions League. He has a strong character. We will closely follow his progress in the coming season from Munich.”

Zvonarek said in a Graz statement: " Sturm is a top club in Austria and is playing in the Champions League this season - I can't think of a better place to take the next step in my development."
