Ohio Co. accident results in one death on Highway 231

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – One person has died after an accident on Highway 231 in Ohio County.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) says on July 4, at approximately 12:14 a.m., Ohio County 911 received a call of a two-vehicle collision in the 3000 block of US Highway 231 South near Cromwell.

Law enforcement officials say upon arrival, deputies found that a 2002 Buick Century driven by Gary Huxoll of Madisonville was traveling northbound and collided with a semi-truck which was traveling south on 231. The semi truck was operated by Kenneth David from North Carolina.

Authorities say Huxoll was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Ohio County Coroner’s Office. An ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office.
