DENVER ( KDVR ) — A Wednesday afternoon crash in Morgan County claimed the lives of a family of four, the Colorado State Patrol reported.

The Morgan County coroner on Friday identified the victims as Brandon Adkins and Destiny Rios, both 22 years old, and their two children aged 2 and 1.

CSP said the crash took place at about 3:34 p.m. at the intersection of County Road C and County Road 31.

The crash involved a Polaris RZR, which is a side-by-side or utility terrain vehicle, and a Ram 5500. The Polaris had four occupants and the Ram had one, according to CSP.

CSP said the Polaris entered the intersection heading northbound and failed to yield at a posted stop sign. The Ram was traveling westbound, and the two vehicles collided.

The driver of the Ram 5500 was seriously injured and transported to an area hospital, CSP said. All occupants of the Polaris were declared dead on scene. The man was driving the ATV, said Trooper Gabriel Moltrer, a state patrol spokesperson.

Troopers investigating the crash suspect alcohol played a role, Moltrer said.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
