More storms Friday, improving weekend weather
By Joe Fitzwater,

Tonight features mostly cloudy skies to begin, with isolated showers mainly before midnight. Fireworks festivities for the 4 th of July will be in good shape in most spots, with only a pop-up shower or two around. Skies will clear a bit after midnight with partly cloudy skies and low in the upper 60s.
Friday begins on a quiet note, but we’ll see scattered showers and storms by the afternoon with a secondary cold front pushing through with high temperatures in the mid 80s. Thunderstorms will be capable of heavy rainfall and a strong wind gust or two during the mid-afternoon. We’ll see a few lingering showers into the evening as temperatures once again drop into the mid to upper 60s.
Saturday a few morning showers are a good bet as our Friday system continues to push out of the region. Highs take a small hit dropping back into the mid 80s but drier air will work itself into the area behind Friday’s front, which will allow temperatures overnight to drop to the upper 50s to right around 60 degrees.
Sunday looks great with mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid 80s – a great wrap-up to the work week with low humidity.
Monday sun and clouds and southwest winds keep temps moving up into the upper 80s by the evening. An afternoon shower here or there is expected thanks to the heating of the day and extra humidity as a little disturbance works through. Isolated showers remain possible into the overnight.
Tuesday we’ll manage to warm up into the mid 80s once again with a mix of sun and clouds. A few afternoon downpour & rumbles of thunder are possible with the summer pattern holding for another day.
Wednesday keeps the risk for an isolated storm or two in the afternoon with heat and a touch of humidity, but otherwise, it’s a dry summer-like day with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid 80s.
Thursday continues the risk for an isolated shower or two in the afternoon but most of us will remain dry with highs in the mid 80s.
In your extended forecast, we keep temperatures in the 80s and we’re a little drier Friday. By Saturday, our next system works its way into the region, bringing the risk for a few scattered storms along with it with highs in the 80s. We’ll dry out in the afternoon on Sunday with highs in the 80s.
