    Ohio ticket wins Powerball jackpot; 3 tickets in other states win big prizes

    ( FOX40.COM ) — Check your Powerball ticket. The drawing on the eve of the Fourth of July netted several million-dollar prizes, including the jackpot of $139 million .

    The winning numbers for the Powerball were 2, 26, 33, 55, 57 and the Powerball was 22. The PowerPlay was 2x.

    If a lottery ticket isn’t claimed, what happens to the money?

    A single ticket in Ohio won the jackpot of $139 million , with another ticket in Pennsylvania and two in California winning large prizes after matching the five numbers.

    According to Powerball’s website, the Pennsylvania ticket won $1 million.

    Three of the ten largest lottery jackpot winning tickets in US history have been sold in California

    The two Powerball tickets sold in California netted prizes of almost $400,000 each, according to the California Lottery.

    One of the California tickets was sold in Sanger, just a few miles east of Fresno, and the other was sold in Forestville, about 70 miles north of San Francisco.

    According to Powerball, nearly 300,000 tickets around the nation won prizes of at least $4.

    The Powerball drawings are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

    Now that the grand prize has been won, the next drawing will start anew, with a grand prize of $20 million.
