    Escaped Tenn. inmate caught in Greenville County

    GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A man who law enforcement officials said was an escaped inmate in Tennessee has been captured.

    According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Billy Fletcher at around 8:38 p.m. Thursday in Greenville.

    According to the sheriff’s office, a person spotted Fletcher and sent a tip to the State Law Enforcement Division. Officials located and arrested Fletcher on Sulphur Springs Road.

    Fletcher reportedly walked off a work detail at the Carter County Detention Center on June 20, and has been sought by law enforcement since.

    The sheriff’s office said Fletcher will be held in the Greenville County Detention Center on a fugitive from justice warrant until Carter County officials can extradite him.
