Passaic County Man Arrested for Lewdness at Garrett Mountain

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ - A Passaic man was arrested on July 2 and charged with Lewdness following an incident that reportedly took place at Garrett Mountain Reservation the morning of June 22.

According to Acting Sheriff Gary Giardina, on the day of the incident, a sheriff's officer assigned to the patrol division responded to the area and met with a female victim. The victim reported that while she performed stretching exercises, she observed an unidentified male in the driver's seat of a Dodge Ram pickup truck with his pants down and masturbating with the driver-side door ajar.

The victim provided a detailed description of the suspect's truck and the PCSO Criminal Investigation Division subsequently commenced an investigation that identified Ruben R. Almeida Pimentel, 52, as a person of interest and led to his arrest.

“All residents deserve the right to enjoy our County parks without the threat of witnessing lewd and illegal acts,” Giordina said in a statement. “The PCSO will not tolerate any illegal behavior.”
