    Henrico Police provide more details about hit-and-run on Nine Mile Road as investigation continues

    HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Henrico County Police Division has provided more information about a hit-and-run crash that occurred early Friday morning on Nine Mile Road as they continue to investigate.

    Around 1:15 a.m. on Friday, July 5, Henrico Police responded to the 5700 block of Nine Mile Road for a reported vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.

    Upon their arrival, officers found a woman and an infant who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. According to police, both victims were taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

    At around 1:15 a.m. on Friday, July 5, Henrico Police responded to the 5700 block of Nine Mile Road for a reported vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.

    Police said the preliminary investigation indicates the woman was walking against traffic, traveling westbound on the shoulder of the eastbound lanes of Nine Mile Road when the driver of the vehicle, believed to be a silver sedan or coupe, was traveling in the right eastbound lane and struck the victim.

    According to police, the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash then drove away from the scene.
