A photo of Dak Prescott on vacation went viral on social media Wednesday and caused quite a stir among Dallas Cowboys supporters. Prescott has since cleared up that the concern was unfounded.

Prescott was photographed while walking along a boat dock in Los Cabos, Mexico. The snapshot showed the Cowboys quarterback wearing a protective walking boot on his right foot three weeks before the start of training camp.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that the boot was for a "very minor foot sprain."

Prescott himself downplayed the issue on Thursday when he spoke to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Prescott added that he was protecting the same ankle that he had injured in 2020.

“I’m great. ...  the last time I went deep sea fishing my [ankle] swole up. ... the same ankle, same issues,” Prescott told Hill.

Prescott is nearly four years removed from when he suffered a season-ending compound fracture dislocation in his right ankle. The injury forced him to miss the final 11 games of the 2020 campaign.

Prescott was able to return to the field by Week 1 of the 2021 season and has remained relatively healthy ever since.

Prescott didn't miss a single game for the Cowboys last year. He led the NFL with 36 passing touchdowns and was the MVP runner-up behind Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson.
