A Taylor Swift theft has sparked chaos in Dublin , with a version of the star still remaining in the Irish capital. Ahead of her three sold-out gigs at the Aviva Stadium, a cardboard cut-out of the 22 singer was erected at Dublin Airport.

Swifties flying in from near and far spent the weekend of June 28 snapping fun photos with the cut-out, and one young fan was even presented with surprise tickets to the concert beside the effigy after jetting in from New York.

When the megastar left the country though, seemingly, so did the cut-out. Dublin Airport launched a hunt for the figurine after it mysteriously disappeared. After a brief search, the cut-out was located, to an amusing reception.

"Good news: contact has been made with the person involved and we’ve been promised a swift return of the Taylor cut-out later today…," a spokesperson wrote on X , previously Twitter, on Friday afternoon.

A while later, the cut-out was back in her rightful spot - greeting travellers as they entered in and out of Terminal 1. A spokesperson said: " Tay Tay is back! Now for the lad who forgot to pay for his bottle of water in T1 earlier..."

Followers were tickled by the light-hearted search. One user, who photoshopped the cut-out onto an Irish Rail train, wrote: "Ah jaysus she's only gone and joined Irish Rail and is gonna be working the 21:35 Heuston - Galway ".

Another said: "She needs security ," while a third commented: "I bet in her wildest dreams she never imagined been caught." It's unclear who took the cut-out or where it vanished to.

Dublin Airport recorded around 3.2 million passengers in June, with numbers swelling during the month by the arrival of many thousands of music fans from all around the world for the many big gigs taking place around Ireland .
