    Festival in Powhatan to offer food drive, vendors, fireworks and more

    POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A “ChowDown in Powhatan Freedom Festival” will be held in Powhatan County on Friday for an evening of food, fun and fireworks.

    The ChowDown in Powhatan Freedom Festival will be held at the Powhatan County Fairgrounds, located at 4042 Anderson Highway, from 5 p.m. to midnight on Friday, July 5.

    The event will include food vendors, live music, a mechanical bull, fireworks and more. Lawn blankets and tents are welcome at the event.

    According to the event’s website , the ChowDown festival is a food bank drive with the goal of collecting 1,000 pounds of donated food. Visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable items for the food bank drive to be entered in a raffle for a chance to win prizes.

    Tickets for the event will cost $5 per person before 9 p.m., and $10 per person after. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or online at the event’s website . Parking for the event is free.
