10 pounds of alleged cocaine seized in Carson County traffic stop

CARSON COUNTY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that 10 pounds of alleged cocaine were seized by Texas Highway Patrol Troopers during a traffic stop in Carson County on Thursday.

According to Texas DPS, DPS Troopers stopped a vehicle going east on I-40 near Groom for a traffic violation at around 5:30 p.m. on July 4.

During the stop, troopers said five taped-wrapped bricks of alleged cocaine were found hidden in the trunk of the vehicle.

The driver and the passenger, both from Indiana, were arrested and booked into the Carson County Jail. The reported drugs were allegedly being transported from Arizona to Indiana.
