A 96-year-old Shrewsbury woman died and five others were injured in a vehicle crash in Adams County Thursday morning, according to officials.

Fuji Smith, 96, of Shrewsbury, was killed in the two-vehicle crash on East Berlin Road at the on-ramp to Route 15 Northbound in Tyrone Township that occurred around 11:31 a.m. on July 4, 2024, state police and the Adams County Coroner's office confirmed.

An autopsy is planned for Smith, due to the nature of the crash, said Adams County Chief Deputy Coroner Scott Pennewill.

The best thing I ate: lunch in Gettysburg!

One of my favorite spots to eat whenever I'm in Gettysburg is definitely at Appalachian Brewing Company!

This place always has an amazing menu of options and some really good beverages.

In this case, I got the "fire jumper" burger, which is a burger with pepper jack cheese, chipotle sauce, jalapenos, fried onion straws, chipotle mayo, and the usual pickles, lettuce, and tomatoes. For dietary reasons I got a black bean burger with it, which was excellent! I always appreciate places that give me options.

Most of the time when I order a "spicy" menu option, it's easy to be disappointed by the heat, but the heat on this was a good balance of being hot enough to make an impact while also not being too hot to finish the whole thing.

If any of y'all have feedback, pet photos, or questions, feel free to send them over to my email at hjones@gannett.com ! I will do my best to answer any questions if I can, and I will be happy to highlight any comments y'all might have.

That's it for your Monday Daily Briefing! See ya tomorrow!
