    Clearfield County Fair 2024: What you can expect to see

    CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The 163rd Clearfield County Fair is almost here and this year they’ve got a performance from Rick Springfield, tons of 4-H shows and vendors that attendees can enjoy.

    The fair is set to take place from Friday, July 12 through Saturday, July 20. Gate admission is $5 per person and tickets for the carnival rides will be available for purchase separately. Residents are getting more and more excited for this year’s event as the date inches closer.

    “Any time that the fair comes in the town, everybody’s getting excited, of course, is a lot of work for us over here,” Greg Hallstrom, Manager for the Clearfield County Fair said. “As you can see today, it’s a lot of hustle and bustle there. we’re very excited about a day change that we did this year.”

    The dates for this year’s fair were moved up three weeks from their usual time and had two extra days added. Hallstrom added that there will be some changes this year, including, some for the carnival rides.

    “More amusement park-style rides there are going to be a lot bigger rides than our carnival, and obviously we’re very excited about that. (…) With the date, change it’s going to bring new vendors and with the new vendors, bring new food items,” Hallstrom added.

    Here’s just some of the performances you’ll see:

    • Warren Zeiders (Friday, July 12)
    • Rick Springfield (Friday, July 19)
    • Riley Green (Saturday, July 20)

    You can buy tickets for those performances here . Entertainment performances like those help the community bring in more guests.

    “They came up with the number of $1.6 million. is what our fair does for this community in the outlying areas. The hotels get filled. A lot of the local restaurants see the difference, local bars. You know, it’s just something for everybody,” Hallstrom added.

    The fair also provides an opportunity for 4-H and FFA members to showcase all their hard work for their projects.

    Sunday, July 14

    • Goat show

    Monday, July 15

    • Rabbit show (Monday, July 15)

    Tuesday, July 16

    • Dairy Cattle show (9 a.m.)
    • 4-H horses/ponies show (9 a.m.)
    • Swine show (6 p.m.)

    Wednesday, July 17

    • Beef cattle show ( 5 p.m.)

    Thursday, July 18

    • Open horses and ponies show (9 a.m.)
    • Lamb show (6 p.m.)

    Friday, July 19

    • Master Showman Contest (9 a.m.)
    • 4-H/FFA awards (6 p.m.)

    Saturday, July 20

    • 4-H/FFA Livestock Sale (9 a.m.)
