PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Passengers are now able to call the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority’s (RIPTA) Customer Service Call Center on weekends.

RIPTA announced that the call center will be open on the weekends between 8 a.m. and noon and 1-4 p.m.

“Our passengers rely on us not just for transportation but also for timely and accurate information to plan their trips,” said Christopher Durand, RIPTA’s interim CEO. “We understand that many people use our services seven days a week, and it is important that our call center is available during the same times they are riding our buses.”

The weekday hours are also being adjusted, according to RIPTA. Moving forward, the call center will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
