When you're not yet in the NFL, or even if you're a normal human being,m and you see an NFL player, or any huge athlete for that matter, for the first time, it can be a very humbling experience. The Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby, the best defensive end in the league, had one of those experiences, too.

This is a guy who is the best at what he does in the NFL, and yet before he was in the NFL, it took one look at one of the best players in the league at that time, for him to think he had no shot at being the same type of person.

During this offseason, Crosby has kept us plenty busy with content from his podcast, The Rush with Maxx Crosby. This time he told that hilarious story about his first experience seeing an NFL player.

"My first time seeing an NFL player up close was in high school, and ironically, it was the Rod Marinelli D-line for the Chicago Bears, and he was going against the Dallas Cowboys, and it was a Monday night game," Crosby said to Raiders legend Howie Long on his podcast.

"I think I was a sophomore or freshman in high school, and I walk up to the tunnel, I'm about to see the bears walk out, and I look up and I see Julius Peppers from close range, and I was like, I'll never play in the NFL, ever. I can lift and run every day until I'm 21 years old and I'll never look like that guy."

Julius Peppers is one of the best defensive linemen of all time. With 160 career sacks, he finished with the fourth most sacks of all time. Peppers is also 6'7" and 295 pounds. So, you can see why Crosby felt like that.

Crosby is a bigger dude compared to us normal humans, but he used to be much smaller, and even now he is much smaller than Peppers was. This is just another great story Crosby has told.
