Viral Picture Shows Sidney Crosby Visiting Team Canada Locker Room After Advancing in Copa América

After notching a historic win at Copa América, the Canadian national soccer team got a visit from an athlete who knows a thing or two about big victories -- NHL star Sidney Crosby.

A picture shared on X by Canada Soccer president Peter Augruso showed the Canadian hockey player paying a locker room visit to the Canadian team after their penalty shootout win over Venezuela on Friday.

"Canada who’s proud??? Look who dropped by to congratulate the team! Argentina here we come!!" Augruso wrote.

The 4-3 win allowed the Canadian team to reach the semifinals in their debut appearance at the Copa América. Maxime Crepeau made a big save on Wilker Angel and Ismael Kone nailed the game-winning penalty to allow the Canadian team to advance.

"Emotions are running high, I'm so happy for everyone who is supporting us," Crepeau said after the game, via ESPN .

"It's a lot of work and now we have the fruit of our hard work. This is amazing to be in the semifinals of Copa América. I think everybody needs to realize this country and its footballers deserve respect."

The Canadian team now has another big challenge ahead, facing Argentina on Tuesday for a chance to play in the final. Argentina, the defending champion, already defeated the Canadian team 2-0 in the tournament's opening game.
