MARS HILL, Maine — In a series of late-night burglaries that have shocked the quiet town of Mars Hill, two 17-year-olds have been apprehended by authorities. The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office announced that the juveniles are responsible for breaking into three local businesses: Mars Hill Redemption Center, Al’s Diner, and Timberwolves Restaurant.

    The Thefts

The break-ins occurred on the nights of July 2 and 3, with the culprits stealing a variety of items from each location. The precise nature of the stolen goods has not been disclosed, but the impact on these small businesses has been significant. The thefts have left the community and business owners feeling vulnerable and outraged.

    Multiple Charges Filed

Both suspects now face a slew of charges: 3 counts of Burglary, 3 counts of Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, and 3 counts of Criminal Mischief. These charges underscore the severity of the crimes and the consequences the juveniles may face if convicted.

The arrests were made possible thanks to the vigilance and assistance of the Mars Hill community. The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office had released surveillance photos during the investigation, appealing to the public for help in identifying the suspects.
