Lycoming Township, Pa. — A happy ending might seem rare these days, but one family is happily snuggling a puppy that was snatched from their yard on June 27.

"The police received a tip this morning on where she was at," reported Carrie DeMarino, the puppy's owner. "They followed up on it," she added, and now Willow has been reunited with her owners.

The investigation into the theft is continuing, DeMarino told NorthcentralPa.com.

On June 27, Lycoming Regional Police Department was dispatched to a residence on Cottage Ave. in Lycoming Township to investigate reports of the stolen dog, a five-month-old pitbull mix.

The owner said the pup had been left in the yard for about 30 minutes. She reportedly had food, water, a dog house, and shade. DeMarino said her boyfriend hadn't left her for long, but someone "felt the need to steal her."
