Justin Timberlake Is Seemingly Embracing His Scandals by Opening a Bar With This Highly-Controversial Star

Justin Timberlake seems to be taking an unconventional approach to easing the scrutiny following his DWI arrest by partnering with another public figure who is no stranger to controversy. Instead of laying low or talking about the important of designated drivers and not driving after a few too many, The “Cry Me a River” singer has teamed up with Tiger Woods to convert the historic New Picture House Cinema in St. Andrews, Scotland, into their second T-Squared Social bar.

The announcement follows Timberlake’s charge on June 18 for driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbor, New York. His partner, Woods, has faced significant controversy as well. In 2009, he admitted to infidelity, leading to his separation from Elin Nordegren. In May 2017, Woods was arrested for driving under the influence in Florida, with multiple substances found in his system. He pled guilty and sought treatment for pain medication addiction. In February 2021, Woods survived a serious car crash in Rancho Palos Verdes; although ruled an accident, questions about his driving behavior remain due to his SUV’s speed of 80 m.p.h.

Timberlake has had his own share of scandals as well, aside from the recent DWI. In 2010, reports surfaced suggesting he cheated on his then-girlfriend (now wife) Jessica Biel with actress Olivia Munn. Additionally, Britney Spears’ 2023 memoir , The Woman in Me , detailed how she went through an abortion by herself when they were dating, along with how Timberlake cheated on her.

Despite these controversies, the two friends seem undeterred in their business ambitions. Their first T-Squared Social bar, which opened in New York City in September 2023, combines their passions for competition, gaming, sports, music, entertainment, and good food. “Justin and I thought it would be cool to create a place that combines our favorite things and brings people together to just have a great time,” Woods said in a press release at the time, per People .

The new bar in St. Andrews replicates their successful Manhattan location, with dart boards, duckpin bowling, and sports simulators. Still, the timing of the decision raises questions about whether Timberlake is genuinely seeking redemption or merely trying to manage his public image with the help of someone who has been through at least a dozen.
