Storm changes return to Green Country on Sunday into Monday, with the main threats being strong wind.

Western Oklahoma has the highest chance of rain, but by Sunday evening, eastern Oklahoma including Tulsa and surrounding counties should get a decent amount of rainfall.

The temperatures remain mild for this time of year, but it doesn't last long. A heat wave is in the forecast for next week.

An early system could hit counties in northern Oklahoma between 8 a.m. and noon before moving northeast on Sunday.

Then, the larger storm system brings rain to Green Country around 6 p.m. as it progresses out of the state into the overnight hours.

What will the weather look like on Sunday?

Sunday will bring a moderate chance for rain and thunderstorms to reach the Tulsa metro, expected to arrive on early Sunday morning.

The highs for Sunday are going to level at around the low 90s raising the heat a little, as the lows are expected to stay in the low 70s.

    EMSA HEAT SAFETY TIPS:

    1. PRE-HYDRATION is key in preventing heat-related illness. Drink plenty of water or electrolyte replacement drinks several hours before and during long exposure to the summer heat.
    2. Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing and a wide-brimmed hat if working outdoors, and take plenty of shade breaks.
    3. No alcohol or caffeine.
    4. If you do not have air conditioning, find a cooling station or public space (such as libraries or malls) during the day.
    5. Don’t limit your use of air conditioning.
    6. Use the buddy system if working outdoors and check on elderly neighbors.
    7. Keep a cell phone on you at all times when outdoors, including walking, running daily errands, yard work or sports and physical activity.

Friday-Saturday will be quiet, but more storms are coming in for late Sunday which will increase our chances of a few strong to severe storms during that time frame.
