    Hey Coshocton County: Here's what you need to know to start your week

    COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Tribune recently received five nominations from the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors Awards for 2024, for work in 2023. Winners will be announced later this month.

    Nominations were to the Tribune for best digital presence and best photo story for the Coshocton Hot Air Balloon Festival by correspondent Judd Bone, best sports writer for Brandon Hannahs and Leonard Hayhurst for best news writer and best enterprise reporting for a story on the reconfiguration of River View Local Schools.

    COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Board of Revision will meet in regular session at 10 a.m. July 8 at the Coshocton County Treasurer's Office, 349 Main St.

    COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Community Band will perform The Great Outdoors at 7 p.m. July 12 at the Coshocton Court Square. The concert will be cancelled if it rains.

    COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Humane Society will have a free rascal clinic on July 25 for spaying and neutering of pets. Registration is from 1 to 3 p.m. July 20 at Tractor Supply in the Downtowner Plaza with appointments scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

    COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Public Health District will present Coffee with a Doc from 5 to 6 p.m. July 22 at Rust Décor, 341 Main St. The topic is cardiovascular health with Christy Zigo and Jason Bryant of Genesis Healthcare System.     COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce will have its quarterly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. July 25 at Schumaker Farms, 52441 County Road 16, West Lafayette. Cost is $18. Make reservations at coshoctonchamber.com.

    COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Kiwanis Club will hold a raffle to win a pair of season tickets for the Ohio State Buckeyes for the 2024 season, which has eight home games. Tickets are $5 each and available through Aug. 11 with the winner drawn at noon Aug. 19. Tickets are available from any Kiwanis member or call Kevin Lyngaas at 630-774-5678.

    COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce is taking nominations for its annual awards banquet to be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 13 . Nominations are due by noon July 31. Awards include employee of the year, young leader, first responder, volunteer of the year, small business of the year and Coshoctonian.

    COSHOCTON − Three Rivers Bassmasters recently held the fifth club tournament of the season with nine members and three guests competing at Tappan Reservoir. Herb Stevens won and had the big bass at 3.3 pounds. Greg Montgomery was second with 2.24 pounds and Tyler Tanksley was third with 1.45 pounds.

    COSHOCTON − Cooper King of Coshocton and a student at the Coshocton County Career Center was recently awarded a skill point certificate in electronics technology at the 2024 SkillsUSA Championships held in Atlanta, Georgia. More than 6,000 students competed at the national showcase of career and technical education.
