A warm start to next week along with the chance for showers

Sunday evening should start off with most temps in the 80s/70s under partly cloudy skies. A few rogue southern showers can’t be ruled out as the move through the next couple of hours. Once the sun sets, the rest of the overnight will see a few clouds and temps dropping into the 60s under a light southeast breeze.
Monday starts in the 60s with partly cloudy skies keeping any morning fog contained in our river valleys. A southerly breeze will return along with a muggy afternoon with temps in the upper 80s. Combined with a stalled frontal boundary to our south, scattered showers and storms will fire off during the early to late afternoon.
Tuesday morning will be rather soapy with high humidity levels and temps in the upper 60s. Our stalled frontal boundary will still be around, bringing in the chance for more scattered showers and storms with our heat and humidity. Even if you don’t see any rain, conditions will feel stuffy outside as temps reach into the upper 80s.
Wednesday brings in our best chance for showers and storms yet as the remnants of Beryl push through the Ohio River valley. Scattered showers in the morning will lead to a wet commute. With persistent showers and storms around, high water issues along low lying and poor drainage areas will be something to watch for during the afternoon.
Thursday morning starts with temps in the 60s along with patchy dense fog possible along areas that saw some showers on Wednesday. We’ll see our fair of sunshine during the late morning into the afternoon though the heat and humidity with temps in the 80s will play a factor in keeping afternoon chances for showers and storms around.
Friday once starts in the 60s though do expect another muggy morning with dew points on the high end. Our morning will start off fairly dry as we continue to see partly cloudy skies into the afternoon. We are watching another stalled frontal boundary just south of our area, and combined with additional moisture, will bring in the chance for showers and storms across the eastern mountain counties in WV.
Saturday brings in the chance for a shower early in the day, but the rest of the day looks fantastic. All the lingering moisture and shower chances look to be out of our area to start the weekend, leaving the afternoon open to some dry time. This will help with temps as they rise into the 80s.
Sunday continues where Saturday left off as we continue to enjoy some more dry time. Once again, rain chances are looking to stay out of our area at this point, leaving the opportunity open for a mix of sun and clouds on Sunday. Expect a toasty afternoon, however, as temps rise into the upper 80s!
In your extended forecast, the following week looks unsettled as we bring back the chance for showers and storms. It won’t rain all the time, but don’t forget those umbrellas in case you encounter any rain. And don’t forget to stay hydrated as we see temps pushing near 90 degrees!
