Many Washington State Avista customers are bracing themselves as fire season approaches. Avista has announced that some areas may have the power shut off to help reduce the incidence of wildfires.

Residents who require oxygen or other medical services may wish to notify Avista of their specific medical requirements. During such times, residents may also wish to use backup generators, battery-operated units, or solar-powered items.

Avista has promised residents that there will be no power disruptions during heat waves, as many residents and medical patients rely on fans and air conditioning to withstand the heat. As temperatures soar into the 100s this next week, Avista has promised there will be no scheduled shut-offs, and residents should be able to stay cool.
