108 District 10 high school football players you should see play in 2024

The 2024 high school football season is right around the corner with heat acclimatization week beginning on Aug. 5. The regular season begins the weekend of Aug. 23-24 as 38 teams in District 10 begin their quests for a state championship.

One of the big trends this coming season is the ability for new players to step up and lead their teams. Out of 72 all-district players in 2023, only 21 are back this fall, leaving a big opportunity for new players and last season's underclassmen to become leaders.

Most of the 21 returning all-district players are seniors, including quarterbacks Zander Telesz (Hickory) and Blayze Myers (McDowell). Myers is coming off a knee injury he suffered in the PIAA playoffs last fall. Other senior offensive weapons include wide receivers James Zigler (McDowell), Nathan Greer (Grove City), Jacob Zietz (General McLane), running back Bradyn Miller (Meadville) and all-purpose back Jaxon Covell (Titusville).

Senior linebackers Montay Hollingsworth (Cathedral Prep) and Bryson Roberson (Sharon) are back as well as senior defensive back Jake Hower from McDowell. Some of the senior linemen back are Garet Guthrie (Lakeview), Brian White (Sharpsville), Ike Friday (Sharon) and Brodie Miller (Sharon).

There are also several strong juniors back with Mercyhurst Prep quarterback Paul Johnson, Farrell wide receiver Danny Odem, Farrell defensive back Juelz Johnson, Sharon defensive back Bishop Root and linemen Luke Lewis (Hickory) and Delathian Boanes (Grove City). A rising sophomore to watch is Hickory defensive back Jadon Phillips as well.

In random order, here is a look at some of the top underclassmen — 108 players — returning this fall with opening week less than two months away. Each player's 2024 year in school is listed, along with positions, height and weight from the 2023 season.
