    Arson charges filed after house fire in Lycoming County

    MUNCY CREEK TOWNSHIP, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — PA State Police Fire Marshal is issuing arson charges after a basement bedroom fire in Lycoming County.

    According to State Police, Tyler Newman, 31, intentionally set a basement bedroom on fire. Newman then fled the residence and didn’t return while the investigation was being conducted.

    PSP reports Newman returned to the scene and gave contradicting information regarding his whereabouts before and during the fire.

    Newman was taken into custody on scene and charged with arson and related offenses were filed.
