Multiple people injured in Washington County after house party shooting

ROPER, N.C. (WNCT) — Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department were called about a report of shots being fired at a house party on July 7.

Once deputies arrived to the scene they saw multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds. Life-saving measures were attempted on Chowan County resident, Verrick Kadeem Parks, but were ultimately unsuccessful due to the severity of his wounds.

Chowan County residents Daniel Hurdle and Tyreek Welch were also injured by gunfire. Both were shot in the foot and Hurdle was also shot in the arm. Bertie County resident, Jaquori Wilson, sustained several gunshot wounds is in critical condition.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office and North Carolina SBI are continuing to investigate.
